SAFE-T TORCH™ OPERATION

WARNING
It is very important to read and understand all safety-related materials supplied by TorchRite Solutions and its suppliers before using the Safe-T Torch™ system. The system must be handled by a fully trained torch operator who understands the proper torch and gas safety requirements outlined by local, provincial/state, and federal guidelines, regulations, and laws.
Operation Steps
Step 1

Once the setup is complete, slide a fully charged 18V, 5Ah Milwaukee battery into the battery mount at the bottom of the Safe-T Torch™ enclosure.
IMPORTANT: Recommended maximum battery capacity is 5Ah. As the battery voltage gets low, the system will shut off automatically indicating that the battery requires charging.

Step 2

Twist to release the Emergency Stop button. This will energize the enclosure.

Step 3

Pull the trigger on the Safe-T Torch™ handle, then release it. The green light on the enclosure will turn on and off, indicating that the system is active and the torch is ready to use.

Step 4

Open the valves on the cylinders and adjust the regulators to the required working pressure.
IMPORTANT: Do not set the oxygen pressure to more than 60 PSI, and the fuel pressure to more than 15 PSI.

Step 5

Pull the trigger on the Safe-T Torch™ handle again to pressurize the hoses. The red lights will turn on when oxygen and fuel line pressure reaches 3 PSI or more. Do not exceed 60 PSI line pressure for oxygen, and 15 PSI for fuel.

Step 6

Pull and hold the trigger, then follow normal procedures to light and operate the torch as per the manufacturer’s instructions. You can begin cutting and welding.

Step 7

To briefly stop working, simply release the trigger. This will stop the flow of pressurized gases to the torch, and the flame will quickly go out. Wait until both red lights on the enclosure turn off indicating that the Safe-T Torch™ hose is purged of dangerous gases, then close the valves on the torch handle.

Step 8

When work is done for the day, shut off all supply gases from the cylinders or manifold. With the torch handle valves open, pull the trigger on the torch handle one last time and hold it until the red lights turn off indicating that the entire system is now purged of pressurized gases and rendered safe. Then release the trigger and close the valves on the torch handle.
IMPORTANT: The red LED lights will go off on the Safe-T Torch™ enclosure at different times due to working line pressures and length of the Safe-T Torch™ hose assembly.

Step 2

Step 4
